xCompany History

CRT's Aegis First Responder System is the result of years of development and the blending of the talents of federal, state and local law enforcement officers, fire fighters, emergency planners, commercial real estate management professionals and IT engineers specializing in web design, database and geospatial applications.

During their careers, in public safety, our front-line law enforcement officers and fire fighters recognized from education, training and many years of experience, responding to emergency situations, that one of the greatest challenges for first responding emergency personnel is to secure accurate and up-to-date information.  Information not only pertinent to the situation but information pertinent to the location where the incident is occurring – geography and orientation.  Securing useful information needs to be accomplished as quickly as possible in order to contain the situation, minimize causalities, limit damage and form safe, effective action plans.  This is the key to situational awareness.  Delays can, and have, cost lives.

Early in his law enforcement career our company founder developed a program methodology which blended community policing concepts, business watch practices and special operations (SWAT/Hostage) tactics.  This methodology involved gathering information useful to public safety and building management, relating to the operation of commercial buildings, within his jurisdiction, and organizing that information into a consolidated, user friendly program that provided immediate access.  The critical pool of information, and more importantly the partnerships that are formed as a result of the process of information collection, are now available to place into action.  Information is now available to the fingertips of Public Safety Personnel (Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical) and Building Owners/Managers, at the preplanning stage of emergency response.  The vital information is also available and familiar to emergency responders and building personnel at the onset of an incident, where the information gap is the widest and the need for comprehensive information is most critical.

Over the last several years our founder has continued to define his vision by networking with colleagues in public safety and emergency planning arenas as well as building managers to identify and fine-tune information collection and delivery processes in order to provide the finest, cutting edge information resource of essential importance during emergency planning, response and recovery.  The finished product is a user-friendly, multi-media knowledgebase of critical building information delivered via secure server, web browser database application.  We insure that all information is current and accurate through database maintenance and by the continued facilitation of public safety and building management partnerships.  Our program follows the tenants of uniform emergency planning as established by FEMA and DHS protocols as well as best business practices.
